      Hello guys,

Please help me fix this, i replaced my old intel 10g card cause i need it two aditional 10g ports and only had in stock a quadport from Broadcom with 4x 10G, after checking the compatibility list here:

The bxe driver provides support for various NICs based on the QLogic
NetXtreme II family of 10Gb Ethernet controller chips, including the fol-
           lowing:

           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57710 10Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57711 10Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57711E 10Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57712 10Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57712-MF 10Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57800 10Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57800-MF 10Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57810 10Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57810-MF 10Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57840 10Gb / 20Gb
           +o QLogic	NetXtreme II BCM57840-MF 10Gb

i found my card: QLogic NetXtreme II BCM57840 10Gb / 20Gb -> listed here so i thought it should 100% work.

After installing the card i get this wierd errors like:

      bxe0: WARNING: No power capability
bxe0: ERROR: Failed to create dma tag for 'ECORE_ILT' (22)
      bxe0: ERROR: ecore_ilt_mem_op ILT_MEMOP_ALLOC failed
bxe0: ERROR: Initialization failed, stack notified driver is NOT running!
      bxe0: WARNING: No power capability
bxe0: ERROR: Failed to create dma tag for 'ECORE_ILT' (22)
      bxe0: ERROR: ecore_ilt_mem_op ILT_MEMOP_ALLOC failed
bxe0: ERROR: Initialization failed, stack notified driver is NOT running!

Card is detected but without a mac address and does not make a link

No mater what i do i can't get it to link to my 10G switch.

Please help me fix it, thank you very much.

There are a bunch of debugging options you can play with in bxe(4):
        https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=bxe

Looks like something pretty low level though. If it's not something known that could be very hard to solve.

Hmm. Not really. I have never dug too deep into Broadcom.

Swapping the card out is going to be the easiest/fastest thing here.

            Otherwise I'd get Googling. 😉
There are actually some Broadcom firmware hacks about for other things so I imagine a lot of this will have been discussed on some forum/mailing list.

None of that is directly related. I just meant there was an active effort to make that work and I'm sure there would have been debugging done at the time. I might be useful to reference that.

It should be supported by bxe(4). There is no other driver as far as I know.
