Errors when updating DHCP scope

I'm running pfSense 2.4.5-RELEASE-p1. I was attempting to change the DHCP scope on my LAN by just extending the IP range, when I received the following error:

The following input errors were detected:

A valid primary domain name server IP address must be specified for the dynamic domain name.
A valid domain key name, algorithm and secret must be specified.

I haven't touched my DHCP scope options in years, but any idea why I need to add all this information just to change the scope?

You don't - most likely you have something in these fields for whatever reason.. Maybe your browser trying to help you with autocomplete.

Check that these fields are blank. And you don't have that check box enabled for this feature.

@johnpoz It looks like I have the option "Enable registration of DHCP client names in DNS" enabled.

Well you want to uncheck that.. Unless you want to register them in some external dns?

If your going to check that, then you would need to fill out the stuff to do that, etc.

If your looking to register dhcp in unbound on pfsense, then you would check that box in the unbound settings gui

@johnpoz I am not sure why I had that checked off. Perhaps I clicked it by accident at some point, because I don't want that in DDNS! Thanks for pointing that out.

On second glance at my unbound settings, I actually have "Register DHCP leases in the DNS Resolver" unchecked, and it makes me wonder if there was a reason I may have disabled that in the past.

There has been, and may still be issues with registering dhcp in unbound.. It can be problematic for sure.

So you may have turned it off there for some reason - you notice mine is off, have never in the 10 some years using pfsense had a need for that.

Devices I want to resolve, have a reservation in dhcp. This is why you see register static checked in my screenshot.
