DHCP Device needs manual IP address to connect to the net

Hello,
I built a new PC so of course it's got a new NIC address....I never thought about it until I was just about to do an update on the laptop that runs Pfsense.
Restarted the laptop, when it came back online my PC which had a static IP address assigned no longer gets network connectivity.
I have to go into the network card on the PC and give it a static IP address.
192.168.0.3
255.255.255.0
192.168.0.1
8.8.8.8I tried deleting it from static mapping, restarted Pfsense, and PC and it picked up an ip address 192.168.0.47 but still no connection to the internet. (even though it said it had connectivity)
I'm still a bit of a freshman when it comes to Pfsense, so a little lost why and where to look.
Any advice would be great.

For some reason after I restart the Pfsense laptop I have to manual restart DNS Resolver....

And what about the PC that had a static IP setup - why changing a static setup ? It's static.
And then "it picked up an ip" ? ? It doesn't pick up an IP, it assigns itself an IP (== static, local setting).
if you set the IP to 192.168.0.3 then it will not use a 192.168.0.47 when connecting to a network.Btw : Good news (bad bad ?) : all this has nothing to do with pfSense.
All devices like routers have an active DHCP server by defaut.
All devices like phones, pads, PC's, and play stuff have an active DHCP client.
Both guarantee you that you have nothing to do with IP settings.Even 8.8.8.8 isn't needed ! why point to a DNS server xx thousands of 'technical' miles away ?
What pfSense version ?
(Some of) The latest version of pfSense include a version of the resolver that seems to be unstable, although I never had issues myself using pfSense 2.5.1 CE.

Was this before or after you started installing packages like pfBlockerNG etc ?
Good news is : ones you started it, it will last for weeks, months or even more like any other router firewall ;) -

Yes I have pfSense running on an old laptop.
I had a static IP address mapped on pfsense for the old PC so it was configured to the old mac address.
pfSense is my DCHP server, that gives out IP addresses to devices on my network no?
So I tried removing the static IP that was assigned as thought with it being mapped to the old NIC then it was this that was causing a conflict.
I had to use 8.8.8.8 in the DNS settings on the PC as I just couldn't get any connection with out it, even using 192.168.0.1 as the DNS wasn't working.
Then I clicked on the restart DNS resolver and then it connected..
I set my pc back to obtain IP address automatically and wallah, connection to the net.

As 8.8.8.8 - you do not need 1.1.1.1 neither.
Again, and do not underestimate these words : please, use the default DNS settings.
This means : do not enter any DNS settings no-where.
Use a 'clean' pfsense first, and see that everything works fine.This is your next urgent matter :
Your using an old pfSense version. It's 2.5.1 for a month or two now.
pfSense can't 'get out' by itself to check for updates, which is a bad thing.
It could be DNS related.
Can you list System > Package Manager > Available Packages ? -
Thanks, I didn't like using my ISP's DNS so I was trying to get it to use a one other than there's.
I was downloading a lot of stuff when I took that screen shot, but it's always worked, the update manager that is.
Under system > Package manager / available....there's loads and loads....it would take maybe 6 or 7 screen shots to list them all......
