SG-2440 Update failed
-
I have tried the remedies in the guide and what I could find here with no results, couldn't figure out how to request a new installer file for my old SG-2440 either.
I attempted to run the update from a web browser and all seemed to be going well but the screen stopped progressing at what I vaguely recall as "removing unneeded packages" I let it sit for about 30 minutes with no further progress.
I at that point no web or console access to the 2440 so I pulled the power oping I could reboot it. At power on the port LEDs all blink away but the status LED stays red and there is no activity on the SATA LED. I get nothing on my terminal (Putty on Linux that has always worked in the past) and the 2440 is not pingable.
I tried to create a bootable USB using the file I downloaded from here but I get no terminal output from it either. File: pfSense-CE-memstick-ADI-2.5.1-RELEASE-amd64.img
I tried the suggestions in other topics for requesting a file from the ticket portal but that didn't seem to work. I tried using the sales address to submit a request for the needed file so that may get me something later Monday.
If it is a file I need I can provide a serial number for my 2440 as well as an e-mail but I don't want to post them to the forum or abuse the PM system so any help would be appreciated.
I'm hoping recovery is possible but if it is dead I need to know that too so I can replace it and get my network back up. This running on an old router pulled from the parts box is not going well.

@stan-qaz I had that symptom after a power failure a while ago; it's a hard failure of some sort. Box had to go back for an RMA that Netgate was doing under an extended warranty period for the SG2440. I believe that program has ended. I think you may want to look at replacements.
A bit more disscussion here:

Got the correct image file from Netgate and a bit of help in troubleshooting, ended up the 2440 died during the upgrade process and nothing would revive it.
Shiny new SG-3100 will be here later this week and until then I'll limp along on an antique HP from the spares closet stuffed with Ethernet cards.
