pfSense - Packages - Edit file - Regarding
-
Hi,
The changes made by edit file option in the NetGate pfSense are not persistent. It is erased by the pfsense once the service restarted or the device rebooted. I did the changes in the virtual server - inner tunnel - ttls for LDAP support and included the proxy.conf in the radiusd.conf file. This changes are erased or overwritten by the pfsense (NetGate) -
Yes this is WAD (works as designed).. If what your changing is not presented or editable via the gui for said service, or a optional configuration box. Then yes any manual edits to some conf file will be overwritten any time that service is reloaded or pfsense rebooted because the conf files are created from the info stored in the xml.
You would have to edit the code that creates the conf file - which would be overwritten when you upgrade pfsense.
If there is something you want to configure in a service that is not part of the gui for that service - you should prob put in feature request to allow for what your doing in the gui for the service.

Hi John,
How to do this?
I am not aware of this one... -
On the pfsense redmine
https://redmine.pfsense.org/projects/pfsense
Create a new feature issue and request what you would like to see.

@johnpoz OK John. Will create a feature request as your direction..

You need to be specific on what exactly conf thing you want exposed to be able to edit.. From your post I really have no idea what you set in the conf.
