WAN_DHCP packet loss/offline
-
I use a Netgate SG-5100 running software version 21.05-release as our home router. The network has been stable since installation, but a couple of months back I started experiencing short lived periods where the WAN was not accessible, but the LAN was functioning normal. The periods of when WAN is not working are almost always fairly brief (a minute or two). But very notable while on a video call. I have investigated via the ISP and they state they are not seeing any issue. I do not have access to the ISP modem (cable modem).
When the WAN is not accessible, I can ping the default gateway (by name and IP address) and access the management console. But I cannot ping outside the LAN by IP address or name. Since it is both, I am certain it is not a DNS issue. Here is a snip of the gateway log:

Jun 15 00:19:53 dpinger 69215 WAN_DHCP 24.166.168.1: Alarm latency 40072us stddev 107640us loss 21%I have replace the cable between the 5100 and cable modem, and as expected that did not make an impact.
I am at loss of what to troubleshoot, change. I don't have a way to see packet loss/re-transmit/etc from the cable modem outbound, So I have no idea if the cable modem is the issue, it is is a 5100 setting, or something different.
Any hints you all can provide?
Edit: When the WAN is not available, the VOIP that comes through the cable modem still works. Which makes me believe the ISP is not having the issue.

It just happened again. This time the VoIP did not work while the WAN was not accessible. Makes me think it is the cable modem itself.
