      Hi all,

I have an issue where I cannot add Homekit devices to a wireless IoT VLAN.

Trying to add a device to the VLAN SSID always fails. However, and this is the strange part, if the device was previously added to the SSID before there was a VLAN, it works fine in the VLAN.

It seems there is something specific about adding the device that fails with my setup. I am currently running Avahi, and have rules that block all traffic from the VLAN to LAN. Disabling the Block rules and adding Pass doesn't seem to help. Once they are on the IoT VLAN Homekit devices work fine.

It occurs to me the problem is not having a Homekit Hub like an Apple TV on the VLAN.

Also, is it overkill to have Homekit devices in an IoT VLAN?

      Thanks,

@alric22 I have all my IOT stuff on an IOT vlan with my Apple TV.

My iPhone & iPad are on different subnet.

@nogbadthebad Thanks Nog. I am thinking of testing moving an Apple TV to the IoT.
