Netgate 1100 Reboot Loop
-
Have an issue with this unit stuck in a reboot loop. When I connected via usb, received this error message and am kind of stuck. I'm hoping there is a way to repair this file system and not have to do reinstall, but am open to anything at this point.

Did you find the file system docs?

Or the "ufs_dirbad" ( == bad directory == fckd up file system because of sudden power loss ) official solution video :

If it crashes that early you're almost certainly going to have to reinstall. Contact TAC at https://go.netgate.com and get a copy of the installer.

Appreciate all the replies. I could never get it to boot into single user mode while it was giving me this error. Somehow, while depressing the reset button on power up, it finally allowed my to boot into that mode, and then I was able to run the /sbin/fsck -y / command, and that resolved my issue. Thank you.

I'm having a similar problem on an SG-2100, also because of a power loss.
I get no user menu. I can pause the constant rebooting at a Marvell>> prompt, but see no way to get a shell to run fsck from there.
Otherwise, there's one other point where I can pause the reboot, but there's no prompt or way of entering anything.
So am I looking at a total re-install?

So, quick update. It turned out that the user menu was appearing. But it was among a lot of garbled characters. And it wasn't pausing for a response. So I tried frantically pressing '2' when I got to that part of the reboot and finally got the prompt I needed to get a shell and run fsck (several times). That sorted the problem.
However, in the meantime I'd opened a ticket with Netgate. I got a response within minutes and soon had a link to download the firmware, which I did as a backup. I mention this just to say that I'm very impressed with Netgate's support.
