      Hello

My client is contacting me everyday saying that everytime he comes to the office the network is not available, so re restarts pfSense Server and the internet goes back to normal

Any ideas on why is this happening?
or even better... Is there a way i can debug this? What log files can i check for to see if i am able to detect this problem?

        @raulchiarella

Where is the guy that maintains that pfSense device ?? 😊

When you log into pfSense, you would be seeing a page that is called the "dashboard".
        Nice page, right ?
But wrong. This page is for the days you don't have questions. And when you dont have question, you wouldn't even looking at that page, as you probably have others things to do ^^

'Real admins' go directly to this page Status > System Logs > System > General and have a look at what happened when and why.
You can also go to Status > Monitoring and select Quality on the right side, and the WAN (or WAN_DHCP) interface on the left side.
You'll see when the connection is good (no ping loss) and when it goes bad (ping loss).
        Now you know when.
What the date and time, back to the logs, and check what happened at that moment or just before..

edit : almost forgot : it seems that for some among us ones in a while 'unbound' fails (stops running).
That means that everything works fine, but domain name resolution, also known as DNS, is down.
People tend to say that "Internet" doesn't work any more - but they will still confirm that a ping to 8.8.8.8 works ... (so "internet" works ...).
Anyway, on the dashboard page, or under Status > Services there are no red crosses ?

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

Yes, need to better define the issue. DHCP not working? DNS not working?

Check the system logs first, it will probably show you want is failing. Assuming anything is failing. It could also be something else on the network causing issues.
