      Hi guys!!
      I need help.
The thing is, I need to install the cron package on my firewall, which is in the 2.4.2-RELEASE (amd64) version, but because it is out of date the repository is not opening for me, would I be able to update the repository without need to update pfsense to the latest version?

        No help needed ;)
You are missing some important info.

You are not using the latest pfSense version.
pfSense packages are always (and with no exceptions) based on the latest pfSense version.
That will be 2.5.2 for the CE version, and 21 something for the Netgate versions.

When you decide to not upgrade any more - keeping 2.4.2, you also decided to never ever install and upgrade packages again.

Read any (like a: all all them) upgrade notices :

        https://www.netgate.com/blog/pfsense-ce-2.5.2-release-now-available

What do you make of this phrase :

        700dab28-35f3-4082-b3a1-723c24ebabeb-image.png

The same thing was told when 2.4.2 came out.
        And 2.4.3 etc etc etc.

        Example :
Some package like abcde is based on PHP Version 7.4.20, as it it the latest PHP version - and also used for the latest pfSense version.
Your very old pfSense is using PHP version 7.1.2.
That's not an issue for the package installer, it will overwrite (upgrade) your 7.1.2 with the needed 7.4.20
You just totally broke your pfSense.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

@gertjan Oh yes, thank you very much for your answer, it's just that I didn't want to update PFsense now, as I have openvpn configured and I'm using openbgp with routing protocol, and I saw that in newer versions there is no support for openbgp, but it does have the frr which supports all other routing protocols.
