DSpam
-
I'm running RC2 (via full tgz update) and am curious if anyone has succesfully installed dspam at this point?
If not, I'll just setup a few extra NAT 1:1's to a dspam box I'm setting up internally on the network. I need it to shield an ancient medieval Exchange 5.5 box from all kinds of unholy evil… (and no I didn't install Exchange, and yes if I could get rid of it and migrate the 80 GB of historical mail over needed for legal / documentation reasons I would).
Anybody get lucky and get dspam installed on their firewall? My box is a big honker Dual Core 3.0 GHz P4 with 2048 MB of ram and 2 80 GB Seagate 7200 RPM drives mirrored and 2 250GB Seagate 7200 RPM drives hardware mirrored with a 3ware 9550SX-II controller so I'm sure it can handle the overhead.
Anyways, I haven't seen much posted up here about dspam. If someone is actively working on it, I'd be willing to help test it.
Thanks.

DSPAM has only been tested on HEAD as the package description states.

Afaik this package needs some of the new features that can't be found in pfSense 1.0.

It helps to read past the first 4 lines now doesn't it!
Thanks for the response. I may get a test box together and toss head on it then and take it for a spin. Any chance we'll see this in 1.1?
Thanks.

We are not sure what the next version will be called but yes.
Most likely 2.0 instead of 1.1.

Great! We should start a Starbucks fund for the dev's… I know I drank way too much Russian Sludge (no offense to the ruskies, but adding coffee grounds to a basket over and over until you can't close it makes for some interesting coffee) in my day developing grid software for super collider research.
Anyways, I'm going to get a test box or two running. Let me know if there's any other way I can contribute other than submitting meaningful and detailed bug reports. Unfortunately no matter how many Frapa's or Mocha's you drink, it still doesn't make release day come any sooner lol… Keep up the good work guys.
