Quick question

I have setup pfsense in ha my question is

Is the gateway on both nodes should be up, because main is up only on one of the notes (in this case master) but when I restart the node (master) the gateway on the backup is going up and when the master is already up and running the gateway is still down on the master

If the gateway is up depends on the setup. If each box has an IP in within the gateway subnet it should be up though.
However, it have to be up on the box which has the master rule at all.
