      tldr: laptop <=> isp: 850+ up/down, laptop <=> 5100 <=> isp: 50m up/down after 5100 factory reset, running 21.05.1-RELEASE

      --

      I've been running a relatively simple lan/vlan configuration for 10 months with no issue. I periodically do a speedtest via ethernet connected device just to make sure I'm getting what I paid from from my isp -- always been reasonable stats... I recently updated to 21.05.1-RELEASE without issue (backed up jic as always). My isp also recently had weather-related issues and went through a couple of branch office restarts, but a reboot of my 5100 grabbed a wan IP as usual. That weather event also caused a brownout here at home, but no power loss or device/service interruptions other than couple of gfci's had to be reset. 5100 is on a ups so no probable damage via surge, though the wan ethernet cable is plugged directly into wall/isp and my 5100 -- I'd assume a big-a** surge on the ethernet cable would result in loss of magic smoke, not a 90% reduction wan throughput ;-)

      Tonight I happened to do a wired speedtest an I'm now getting about 50 up/down when the expected is 850+ each way. Tried rebooting the 5100, etc. to no avail. I also did a quick fresh backup and then a factory reset and still got the same results.

      I didn't see anything similar in the forums relative the the 21.05.1-RELEASE update, so I'm looking for directions on how to troubleshoot.

      Last datapoint is when I test a direct connection from my isp's ethernet jack to my laptop, I get expected speeds near 1gb.

      TIA,
      D

        A bandwidth restriction like that is probably a speed/duplex mismatch. You should check the Status > Interfaces page to see if any interface is linked at 100M or half duplex.

          @stephenw10 thanks! that path ultimately lead to a damaged port igd0! remaining ports in good shape, so did a quick right-shift from Interfaces, Assignments...
