In my current setup, I use IPSEC to create a tunnel between my home and vacation home. My soon to expire ddns provider is used to identify (address) both locations. I have created a new ddns account with No-IP.

Additionally, I’ve setup host override to resolve my pfsense box to a local IP instead of the outside world IP.

So, when I tried to change my IPSEC “remote gateway” to using the new ddns host name, which then gets resolved to a local IP instead of the outside world IP, my IPSEC tunnel does not work because of the local IP instead of the outside world IP.

So, question, for IPSEC, is there a way to bypass the host overide?
