SG-3100 - No web GUI or internet
-
Hello,
My SG-3100 is not fully functional after attempting a firmware upgrade. It will assign IP addresses, but there is no WebGUI no, no internet, which means no site-to-site, etc.
Yesterday the internet connectivity was not very good. This morning, there was no connectivity.
This reminded me of the issues when upgrading to pfSense plus. Clearing the ARP tables did not solve the issue. Releasing/Renewing the WAN would get me internet access for 1-2 minutes.
Testing the internet directly at the modem, no issues.
Being on 21.02-p1, I decided to try to upgrade since it's been long enough for bugs to hopefully be resolved after that last upgrade.
With limited conectivity of 1-2 minutes, it took a few attempts to fetch the firmware, but when it had all the files the upgrade kicked off. It removed 2 or 3 packages, like Arping and OpenVPN-Client-Export. It displayed it's reboot message, and that was it.
The lights were blinking blue for a while, the GUI never came back up. After 20-30 minutes I power cycled, recalling the upgrade was pretty quick previously so 20-30 minutes should be good.
The lights were in a strange cycle I never saw. Blues and then a flash of orange, repeat.
After a while of no progress I power cycle again.
As of now, the only things I can do it connect to the console. The menu comes up, I can run commands. I can check logs. I can ping domains/IP's, but there's no internet access beyond that. My IPSec site to site doesn't work.
Netgate support has responded with the firmware, but before I wipe this thing, I wanted to see if anybody had some input.
Thanks.

If it's still flashing all three blue LEDs then it has not booted completely.
If it's still flashing orange then it's still seeing an available update so I'd say it didn't complete the upgrade for some reason.I would re-install 21.05.1 clean from there and restore the config. If it didn't complete the upgrade you can never be sure what state it's in otherwise.
Check the routing tables:netstat -rn
Make sure you have a default route and it's the right one.Steve
