SG3100 can't read ubldr.bin
-
Few days ago I installed a new SG-3100. Three days later its crashed. I got console cable connected and its saying "SG3100 can't read ubldr.bin". I have bought 20+ SG3100s and this is the first time I'm getting this. Searching the web/forum didn't help much.

If it is indeed a "new" SG-3100, it will be under warranty. I suggest contacting Netgate here for assistance: https://go.netgate.com/. Register with an email address (if not already registered) and then open a ticket.

@bmeeks Ticket opened. I was trying to see if anyone here had the same issue so I can resolve it without reaching out to Netgate. Thx

The missing SCSI controller message is not an encouraging sign. That looks like potential hardware problems which you will need Netgate to help with.
You could try reinstalling from scratch and importing the old config, but unless you already have an installer image for pfSense+, you still need Netgate to provide that. You can't use CE images on the SG-3100 hardware. The CPU is incompatible as CE images only work on Intel/AMD hardware, and the SG-3100 is an ARM CPU.
So you sort of need to go first to Netgate for assistance either way (to get an installer image, or to potentially swap out under warranty for defective hardware).

@bmeeks Yeah. Its a weird one. I've had good success with the 3100s, with a one boot loop problem once, that was an easy fix. I'm interested to see what Netgate says about this.

@bitvoip "Open it and check the cables"?

Netgate responded super fast. Provided ver.21.05.1 firmware and clean instructions to reinstall it on the 3100. Whole process was took 15min. I'm back in business
