pfSense as main + cloud/nas on VM
-
Hello,
this question were asked several times, but - I misunderstood how it should work - or I would like to do something a bit different way.
So again ;) pfSense as main "system", and own nas/cloud - whatever - some space to share on local network.
And yes, I "understood" that there is no way opr not easy way to do it inside pfsense ;)
I read here to do vm way. But as I understood the thing is to install - for example only - FreeNAS as main system and do pfSense under its VM?
Is there a way I could do this other way - I mean pfSense I want to have as main os on the box, and "add to it" cloud/nas on VM or something.

The short answer there is no.
Technically pfSense supports bhyve so you could try to install something that way.
But really the only sensible way is to install a hypervisor on the bare metal and then install pfSense and whatever else as VMs on that.Steve
