Setting up routing
-
If this is in the wrong section, then I apologize ahead of time.
Currently, I have PFsense running on a Proliant ML350 G6 server running standard issued configuration. COX internet is connected to the WAN, on the LAN side, I have a Linksys LGS308 smart switch that connects various PC's AND my WRT1200 connects to that also for WIFI.
So, its

PC----LGS308smart switch---PC---WRT1200My problem is, the WRT1200 gets a 10.41.25 IP, while everything else on the switch gets a 192.168.1.*** address and I can no longer access the shared drive on the WRT1200, and I cannot find the access page for the smartswitch. The switch no longer shows up anywhere. Even after a factory reset. If I change my WRT to bridge mode, then it shows up correctly along with the shared drives. For giggles, I changed the setup to PFsense---WRT1200-LGS308. I still have to have it in bridge mode, and I still can't see the switch.
What do I need to do to see all hardware on the network and keep all functionality without bridge mode? -

LGS308
I Think you should change your network to :
Internet

pFsense
|
LGS308 (default ip 192.168.1.251) - WRT1200
|
PCConnect one of the lan ports of the WRT1200 to the LGS308. Forget about the WAN port on the WRT1200, set the internal IP of the WRT1200 to someting like 192.168.1.252 and gateway to your pFsense device (192.168.1.254 ???). Don't use the routing function of the WRT1200, just use the accesspoint function of the device
The pFsene should do DHCP for the entire network (could be something like 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.100).
This might fix the problem

Where would it be getting that from?
Why are you hanging wrt off your PC.. Why would you not just use it as AP and hang it off your switch?
edit:
if you want it in the same room as your PC, just do it like thisLGS308 --- wrt --- PC
Since the wrt has switch ports, just use it as switch and AP?
all functionality without bridge mode?
Like what? What would routing features would you be using on it? You don't have to put it into bridge mode.. Unless you need the extra wan to be used? Any wifi router, any! Can just be used as AP by turning off its dhcp server and connecting to your network via one of its lan ports. Set its lan IP to be on your network. And just connect to that IP and setup the wifi settings.

Ok, I see what everyone is saying. Don't plug the WAN port of the 1200 into the switch, instead, plug the LAN side instead.
johnpoz, when the WRT1200 is in bridge mode, it disables most of the router functions such as drive sharing and what not.
I'll post results probably next weekend due to me leaving for Chicago Sunday.
Thanks to both of you for your helpful insights.

@burninbogey6 just don't use the wan port then ;) And you should be able to use its drive sharing feature.

"when the WRT1200 is in bridge mode, it disables most of the router functions " dont use bridgemode, dus try with regular mode, don't use WAN port and connect the lan port to one of the ports of the switch. You might need to setup a gateway (ip adress of the pFsense device) in the LAN interface of the WRT1200 to get everyting working.
