I have Wireguard running on a Debian VM behind pfSense. My client does not receive packets when I connect to an external wifi network.

I have pfSense running on an HP thin client. It's only a dual core AMD processor, so the wireguard speed would be very slow if I ran wireguard directly on pfSense.
For the past around 6 months or so, I've been running Wireguard on a Debian VM, and it works great. I did have this set up correctly in the past but I stupidly tried another firewall distro, and I didn't back up my settings.
Wireguard is on the VM 192.168.1.4
I have the port forwarded (51821) to the VM's ip address. -
I have played around with outbound NAT rules a bit but I just can't seem to get it right.
To clarify, the main client is my Android phone. I can connect and it works flawlessly on the mobile data network, as well as my home wifi. If I connect through an external hotspot, the data Tx on my client app on my phone increases. But I am not able to receive any packets. The firewall logs do not appear do be blocking something. I can also faintly remember having to create a LAN or an outbound rule in the past when I had this set up correctly. Maybe even a 1:1 rule. I do have NAT enabled in advanced settings.
This is my first post here, I have tried to get help on Reddit to no avail. I appreciate you guys taking a moment to help a noob like me out.
