I have been using Pfsense for years, reliably on an older dell r210. I have no urgent need to change other than consolidate my footprint and perhaps save some power. My question is can I restore my config as is and should I expect everything to work as it's configured? I use bind, snort, openvpn and zabbix, and most of the services local as well like ddns, dhcp, unbound, dhcpv6 etc...

      Thanks in advance

@cdelrey If you get one with a switch note Netgate's suggestion to let them help edit the config, which they've said here is free.

I would update the new router (pfSense software) first to make sure the restore pulls packages for the correct version.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

          Yup, that^.

You can import a CE config into any of our appliances. If it has an internal switch it's easier to add that config section first, we can help you with that.
