      As the title suggests. Is it feasible to use a bring your own hardware device as your secondary unit in an HA cluster? Understanding that you would need sufficient interfaces on the bring your own hardware setup to map to the interfaces on the primary Netgate branded unit.

        @bp81 To sync states (for a transparent changeover) you need identical interfaces, see this. Otherwise the hardware shouldn't matter so much. Presumably the secondary would be using the same memory and packages as the primary.

        Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
