pfsense not online - ISP router is in bridge mode
-
Hi
I have got a new router from my ISP. This one I can set in bridge mode.
My pfsense on 192.168.0.1 was on ISP router getting IP 192.168.8.1.
When I set ISP router in bridge mode my pfsense get offline.
I can't figure out if there is some settings I need to change. Any ideas by forum member?

It depends on your ISP who to configure the interface connected to the modem. Possibly you need PPPoE. -

Thanks for answer.
My ISP uses DHCP. -

So you have to configure WAN simply as DHCP client. But I guess, you've tried that already.Maybe there is no DHCP server available on WAN.
Sniff the WAN traffic to see what's going on.
You should at least see DHCPDISCOVER from pfSense to 255.255.255.255. If there are no DHCPOFFER no server is requesting. -
@modesty On my modem (AT&T DSL 3rd party reseller - Arris NVG589) I can setup the bridge connection, but it's not called that in the settings. Then I can set a specific MAC address to get the internet address from the modem. This is the MAC address of my pfsense WAN port. Then in pfsense, my WAN port is set to use DHCP from the modem and it gets the internet address. Works just fine that way for me.
