The checksum was ok after downloading and before extraction but then when using to install the install would stop with a checksum error. I used four different thumb drives, 2 3.0s and 1 2.0 in different slots 3x 3.0 slots and 2x 2.0 slots. It may be my hardware but don't know where to look. I ended up using a portable dvd unit with an iso image. That got passed checksum error but then... a different issue.asrock 970m; AMD FX3600; 32 GB (4x8) DDR3 ram; sabrent(realtek) usb 2.5 Gibe; Gig onboard(realtek)

Can we see the actual error and where in the boot sequence it appears?
It may be nothing to do with the install image or media.

What exactly was the second issue?

@stephenw10 It was apparently a problem with the motherboard and or cpu. Switched to a different system( AMD a10 apu vs. original FX6300 ) and was able to compete boot DVD. Now thinking of using it as a 10Gb router/switch instead of firewall if possible.
