      Hi all =

Noob here. Working on setting up a Pfsense 3100 with a ubiquiti switch and AP for my home network. I got the device and could access it, briefly, when I first got it but only when not connected to my network due to the conflict with 192.168.1.1. However, after a few minutes of tinkering something stopped allowing me from successfully hitting the firewall. I've tried just about every combination of connecting to the webUI but have had no luck, even after a factory reset using the button on the back.

This is high-level in detail considering what I've done to try to get back into the device but what should my steps be here to appropriately troubleshoot this?

      Thanks,

      Vinny

Connect to the serial console and see what's happening:
        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-3100/connect-to-console.html

The reset button on the 3100 is not a config reset. It's a CPU reset, equivalent to pulling the power.
        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-3100/io-ports.html#other-ports

There's a good chance it may be stuck in a boot loop after being hard reset a few times. If that is that case, it should obvious at the console, you should be able to escape it by running a manual filesystem check:

@stephenw10 Thank you. I was able to get in. I needed to set the local LAN to a different subnet.
