CARP: Small UI change and/or systemwide checker would sure help!

I've now gone months with CARP running nicely... and don't hold in my head all the detailed nigglies needed to make it work.
I burned myself for a few days by forgetting one:
- In DHCP Server setup, one must manually inject the CARP (.1) IP for DNS server, instead of allowing the HW default (typically .2 or .3) to be used.
- (Without this, DNS fails... phones etc get "connected but no internet"
SUGGESTIONS:
- How hard would it be to have a systemwide CARP-config checker script?
- Would it make sense to have UI markup to show places CARP IP's should be used?
