Netgate 3100 Not hitting gigabit speeds
-
Hi everyone,
recently got a new gigabit connection. my netgate 3100 seems to max out at 640 to 750mbps which is strange because it should be able to handle it fine. I have basically a default install with no traffic services running that would affect the speeds. I know it's not my connection because plugging straight into the internet connection I get full gigabit down.I have reinstalled the factory software and ran speedtests from stock install to my current setup and the speeds are the same 640 to 750mpbs down
Does anyone have any ideas why this would be happening
thanks

@saintvex Generally suggestions are:
- try a different patch cable
- put a switch between pfSense and the ISP router
- run speed tests from a PC behind the pfSense, not on the pfSense, as it's not optimized for that
No limiters, shaping, VLANs?

I’ve tested just about everything, I tried putting a switch in between but that didn’t change anything, I did a default install and that didn’t change either, I’m kind of stumped here because netgate support were very certain telling me it is capable of gigabit especially on a default install

How are you testing? What speeds do you actually see when connected directly?
