pfSense 2.5.2 - IPv6 (DUID and IAID)
-
Re: Major problem with DHCPv6 static mappings I read through the other topic and it prompted me to make a new one. I have found that pfSense will show you the Raw DUID in the System / Advanced / Networking area - but nowhere can I find the IAID. I too am accustomed to Windows and when you are in the DHCP (IPv6) section - in order to create a reservation - it wants DUID and IAID to do so. How do I find this on a pfSense 2.5.2 install?

@bob-dig So thankful for your 2-word, completely useless answer...but I beg to differ. As evidenced by the image below. No IAID - and you get an error.

@bearhntr Now I got you. But do the reservation in pfSense, not in Windows.

@bearhntr You can create a feature request: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/development/feature-requests.html

@bob-dig Windows is my home's Domain Controller, DHCP (DHCPv6) and DNS -- soon to be LDAP. I make all address reservations in Windows Server 2019. I am hoping that once I get to the LDAP configuration - I can set pfSense to use LDAP credentials to login - rather than the local account I use now.
