OpenDNS Dynamic DNS wrong username or password
-
Not sure what happened but I have OpenDNS dyndns working on my two pfsense boxes until today. In the logs, it says wrong username or password. I thought it was because of this issue but I don't have an ampersand on my password. I also tried changing my password to try other special characters and it's still not working. I'm a 100% sure I'm inputting the correct password.
How can I troubleshoot this?

The first step is enable the verbose output and check the system logs after forcing an update.

I already did that and it says the same thing, wrong username or password.

Next step : fill in the OpenDNS DynDNS info again, using another browser.
OpenDNS works fine right now :

Same thing, tried with Google Chrome with the same results for both pfsense boxes on different ISP's. The only special character on my password is a "$".

The web interface will accept a password with a '$' just fine.
Because I had was using an old 'simple' password, I changed it.
Like "Blabla$99"
UI was asked to login again .... and the new password was accepted.I entered "Blabla$99" into the OpenDNS DynDns settings and force updated it :
This is what OpenDNS dyndns said to me :rc.dyndns.update: phpDynDNS (xxxxxx): (Error) Not a valid username or password!
I guess that the new password wasn't synced yet with the DynDNS server on their side. I'll try a couple of hours later.
And if not so : your fault, now mine is broken also ;)I've tried also "BlaBla+99" : same result.

there you go, lol. the same exact thing happened to my 2nd pfsense instance. it was working fine until I tested on it while troubleshooting. And now both are broken :) the 1st one broke when I was troubleshooting a no-ip dyndns entry that I had also but that was since fixed. The only problem now is isolated to opendns.

The OpenDNS support community is aware that there is an issue.

For me - and others (see forum opendns link above ) it's fixed.

@gertjan yes, I checked yesterday and it's also fixed for me. Thanks!
