      Hi guys,

Is there a way to restore/configure PFSense by ECL via CDRom/ISO instead of USB?

Since I'm on a hypervisor, it's much easier to insert an ISO file than an USB stick.

I have already built an ISO file which contains the config.xml, at
      /config.xml
      /conf/config.xml
      /config/config.xml

While I can manually mount the cdrom in running mode and see the config files, unfortunately it seems ECL doesn't look for the config.xml on the cdrom when booting.

Do you have any idea how to make this work?

      Best Regards,
      GCS

Your hypervisor should also offer a way to provide an image as USB disk.

ECL looks for DOS/FAT or UFS format partitions, and an ISO image wouldn't have either of those, so it's not possible.

You could create a small DOS disk that you attach as an additional disk to the VM to do it, but YMMV.
