      Re: How to set boot up display resolution ?

      Scrambled video display on boot up. An old topic I gave up with a while back but has recently given me some grief again.

      I tried the last reply from 'jimp' in the old topic and it now works :-)

      Edit (or create) '/boot/loader.conf.local' and add ....

      efi_max_resolution="800x600"
      exec="gop set 8"

      ... not sure which line works, the important thing is I now have a usable display on every boot - belated thanks to 'jimp' for the suggestion :-)

      ... and yes I did replace IpFire with pfSense running on the Wyse Z90D7 box linked with four vlans to a D-Link 5 port managed switch (TL-SG105E).

      Reference here :

      https://www.joe0.com/2019/11/16/converting-single-nic-mini-pc-into-pfsense-router-firewall-by-using-virtual-lan-configuration-on-a-managed-switch/

      ...it worked extremely well running four local sub-nets, Wifi and Guest Wifi until the switch failed, hence the reason to re-visit the video problem !!

      Hope this helps others with the same problem.
