DynDNS not working with payed NoIP service
-
I subscribed to the payed service from NoIP, configured the DynDNS service in PfSense on my Netgate device:
- Selected built-in NoIP (payed) settings
- Interface
- Hostame (incl domain) as registered at NoIP
- Username & Password as registered at NoIP
but the service is showing status "failed", under >Services>Dynamic DNS
Also reports 0.0.0.0 as the cached IP. -
btw I see this in the system logs (under general):
/services_dyndns_edit.php: phpDynDNS ([my domain]): (Unknown Response)Does that mean that Netgate didnt keep the API configuration in PfSense uptodate / in sync with NoIP? That's a bummer. PfSense+ is a payed product right? It should be uptodate.

FWIW, I had to remove special characters from my free account's PW a while back. Don't know if that applies to paid also. HTH

@provels Thanks. Yes, I got a warning (I believe from the NoIP website) when I used a more complex password. So I already removed special characters. But that doesnt prevent my problem.

UPDATE: I decided to install the No-IP client on my always-on fanless server-PC and remove the dyndns client config from my Netgate router. It has nothing to do with the router anyway.
