    hi

    i have pfsense 2.5.2 running on a pcengines apu2 with an SD Card and zfs filesystem.
    everthing works for a long time... but now the filesystem is in a kind of "read-only" mode...

    eg. if i change the config or install a package. the changes ar gone after a reboot... also the system log files ar gone after reboot...

    any ideas how i get back to "write-mode"?

    thanks a lot!

      @sebu said in pfsense is in a "read-only mode":

      SD Card and zfs filesystem.

      Your SD-Card is dying or allready death! No chance to get it back! (read-only is a internal protection of the SD-Card-firmware to protect from loosing data) BTW: Its a bad Idea to run pfsense from a SD-Card (they are not made for intensive writings). In a APU2 you are able to use a mSATA SSD.

      Edit: ZFS is a very write intensive filesystem - its not bad to read this Thread

        @sebu
        When your installation is on a SSD at, least you should have the variable data on a RAM disk.

        This can be set here: System > Advanced > Miscellaneous > Use RAM Disks

          Yes that ^. The SD probably hit it's ware level limit and went read only. Not anything you can do about that but replace it.
