Lost internet access after Xfinity Reboot...
-
I have an SG3100 and I've been connected to my Xfinity gateway for about 5 months without any issues. I lost power due to the Icemageddon storm last week and once power was restored I no longer have access to the internet. I ran a ping from my PF to 8.8.8.8 and it's able to get out but I'm unable to get out from any of my devices whether it's wired or wireless. I logged into my Xfinity gateway but I'm unable to put it into bridge mode. The wan IP on Xfinity's gateway is 75.64.x.x and it's providing my wan address to my SG3100 with 10.0.x.x. In the past, with Fiso the 75.64.x.x was also the wan address on my 3100 and I never had any issues. Xfinity is different. I can say on my Xfinity gateway it's giving me the option to change my LAN address to anything I want. Pls, help me everything is down unless I bypass my SG3100 and I do not want to do that.

It's probably a bad gateway or no default route.
Try pinging 8.8.8.8 from the 3100 but with the source set as LAN.
If that fails go to System > Routing > Gateways and make sure the WAN shows as default. If it doesn't set the default v4 gatewau to WAN rather than automatic.

I can ping to 8.8.8.8. I did a reboot and no joy...

I will switch the Xfinity gateway into bridge mode but I will need some assistance afterward. Can you provide some instructions...

can ping to 8.8.8.8.
Specifically when sourced from the LAN?
There are two reasons why you might not be able to connect out when pfSense itself can. Either there is a bad default route (or none) or no outbound NAT. Pinging from the LAN IP should test both those things.
Check the routing table in Diag > Routes. Make sure a default route exists and is correct.
