Multi Wan & Multi Lan Setup Questions….
-
Hello All,
Looking for some input on the best possible setup with pfSense for my scenario. I am by no means an expert, but I know enough to get it setup and running. I would like failover, but I'm not sure how that would work (see below) because of the IP PBX.
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.
Setup:
1 pfSense box (P4 3.2, 2GB) , 5 NICs total though one is onboard (10/100) and I would like to avoid using it if possible. All others are Intel Pro 1000GT's
Internet Connections:
Dedicated T1 - 8 Static IPs
Dedicated 6.0/768 DSL - One Static IP
Building Shared 3x T3 (load balanced, shared in multi tenant building, VLAN) No public IP.Initial thoughts:
Setup load balancing for all, point one static back to IP PBX for reverse lookup (required by SIP to my understanding).
OR
T1 dedicated to VoIP
DSL dedicated to Data (voice calls supported by web based app)
Building Shared T3s "last ditch" failover, only to be used if both DSL and T1 are dead.OR
Load Balance the DSL/T1
Building Shared T3s "last ditch" failover, only to be used if both DSL and T1 are dead. (Not sure if I can get the Switchvox IP PBX to failover automatically, probably a manual IP switch on my end to make it work no matter what pfSense does)Questions:
If this was your setup, how would you do it?
I am thinking scenario two or three, can I do this all on one pfsense box or do I need two?**Notes:
I'm a software developer by trade, doing this to help a friends business out. Please excuse my ignorance.**
Thanks.
