When fq_codel has been added to pfSense it helped a lot to mitigate bufferbload but at the same time it has not been handling icmp traffic properly - https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/9024

Some people added rules so icmp traffic doesn't go to fq_codel limiter or placed floating rule not on WAN out but on LAN in.

After each update I check if this problem still exists. But today icmp traffic has not been dropped for me while running speedtest or torrenting "have i been pwned" database.

I would be happy but my tests without fq_codel showed that apparently my ISP is doing some kind of bufferbloat mitigation. So it would be great if somebody else could check if https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/9024 has been fixed in 2.6/22.01 or it is just because my ISP is properly handling traffic.

So I know now that it is not solved. It might not be dropping pings during speed tests but tracroute output still doesn't make sense.

So I'm going back to having fq_codel limiter on LAN in.
