      Hi,

today I had a DHCP hickup due to a DNS misconfiguration. Fixed so far but I noticed some error messages in DHCP logs:

      Feb 22 08:35:31 dhcpd 7493 5 bad udp checksums in 5 packets
      Feb 22 08:34:16 dhcpd 7493 3 bad udp checksums in 5 packets

Doing some googling told me it is an issue in virtual environments where two VMs with hardware checksum offloading enabled send packages to each other and the hypervisor not doing checksuming.

But my pfSense is running on dedicated hardware! And the only virtual machine in this environment uses a static IP address.

Anyone having an idea what might be wrong here? And possibly a hint how enable debug logging to figure out from which MAC the related packet is coming from?

      Thanks!

      /KNEBB
