      Hi everyone,

      Currently we run two PFSense instances. A usual one as master the other as backup with CARP. Our problem is that on failover the new master can not promote to the rest of the network, that it should now be used instead of the old master due to ARP Cache. The ARP Cache time for our hosting provider is fixed and unchangeable to 5 Minutes.
      Thus we regularly encounter downtimes, for example if we want to restart PFSense hosts (VMs) or the VMs Host (Proxmox virtualize dedicated Servers).
      Therefore we would like to take the failover out of the equation by having a master master setup with an external loadbalancer in front of us (Or Akamai).
      All other questions about master/master setup were from ages or decades ago.
      I am not very concerned about the two way settings sync as we can easily limit management to only one of the masters.

      So is a multiple master setup possible? Thus the throughput would be twice as high, wouldn't it?
