      Hi,

I have upgraded to pfsense 2.6. I have the configuration set for remote-logging. After rebooting the vm system log is flooding with errors "syslogd - sendto: Can't assign requested address"

Please, help me to get rid of it.

      Thanks in advance.

That's normal at the start of boot until it gets an IP if can start sending syslogs from.
If it's still happening after boot there's some issue with the syslog config. It's configured to use a source address that isn't available.

          Hi,

I have set the source as localhost IP 127.0.0.1, before upgrade to 2.6 it was logging fine.

So it's both not logging and continuing to show those errors after boot?

Hmm, sounds almost like the RSS issue we hit a while back but that's not in 2.6.

Probably going to need to see some logs and config to get further.

Are you able to replicate this in a fresh install?

                Steve

                  Hi,

It is not the problem particularly to this pfsense version as the error was not produced for other instance.

                  Thanks for your reply.

So something is preventing traffic from localhost on that install specifically.

Does it give that same error even after boot?

                    Steve
