Interface Assignments Won't Delete
-
Hello All,
I am trying to delete 2 Interface Assignments and pfSense isn't playing nice. I am trying to delete the Netgear and Camera Interfaces.
When I click delete on either one of those I get this message:
When I go to view the bridges I see this:
I don't see that the Netgear and Camera Interfaces are part of a bridge, or at least this one. Am I looking in the wrong spot? If this is the only spot, is there another way for me to delete those? Also is the WAN & LAN normally bridged by default?
Thank you very much for any help.

I'm also wondering, why you don't see OPT1 and OPT2 in the interface list. Aren't they enabled?
Also is the WAN & LAN normally bridged by default?
No, by default they are not. And if you don't have certain reasons you should not do that.
Bridging WAN and LAN enables you to have public IPs behind pfSense in the LAN and that devices are able to pull IPs from the ISPs DHCP server, but that is not needed in most cases. -
@viragomann OPT1 & 2 are not enabled at the moment, just as 3 & 4 are not enabled (where Netgear & Cameras are). Right now I am only using WAN and LAN port. LAN is connected to a switch.
I will delete bridge, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to break my network.
Interestingly enough, when I deleted the bridge referenced above, it allowed me to delete Netgear & Camera.
Thank you.

@nosenseatall If I had to guess, since you had the interfaces not actually enabled, they were not listed in the bridge. But they were prob still assigned there, just not showing in the gui because they were not actually enabled.
You could prob try duplicating the problem my putting couple of interfaces into a bridge, then disable them and see if they are still listed in the bridge gui.

@johnpoz Thank you for the information. Just as you said, it was because they were not enabled.
