VPN masking
-
Hi all,
Is it possible to have a VPN on pfsense to mask your WAN IP so you can make it appear that you are in a different country, i know you can download apps for mobile devices but I was wondering if it was possible on pfsense for the whole network or a Vlan on the network.
I know someone who was able to buy a rotuer that did this but want to stick with pfsense if possable. -

Yes, that's possible with any VPN. And since pfSense is a router you can also route only specific source IPs over the VPN using policy routing rules. -
@viragomann Thanks Viragomann, is there a preferred VPN service to use or are they all about the same.

They are mostly the same. The bandwidth you can push can vary by provider so if you have a relatively high bandwidth WAN and want to push all traffic over the VPN you should investigate that.
Some providers support Wireguard now which gives you more options.

@danlad2030 They are all very much of a muchness.
Just remember to enable don't pull routes otherwise the default gateway for everything becomes the OpenVPN gateway.
