SFP+ 10G PCIE 3.0 x4

Hi,
I'm running C3558 motherboard
And in need to upgrade to 10G SFP+ network, motherboard has PCIE v3.0 x4 lanes. I do have raiser opened in the back so theoretically i can fit x8 lanes card, unsure thought I would get full performance from such card. I did some googling but find only one option that probably would work Intel x550 but it is RJ45 instead of SFP+. The other option is consumer grade ASUS XG-C100F is unlikely to work "out of the box".Can anyone please recommend NIC SFP+ 10G to buy?

I would think you can get that card in either a fibre or copper configuration. You can with other cards like the X520, X520-DA2 or X520-T2.
The bus bandwidth is not really that important. You won't see 10Gbps filtered and NAT'd traffic with that CPU anyway.

Hi Steve, thanks for response. Yes sure is true 10G with atom C3000 is unlikely I've got the point. Already looked at X520 series probably the best fit. X550 I couldn't find in fibre config. Another card I come across lrec6860af-sfp+ claims to be freebsd 9 compatible, unsure thought it will work ok.

It looks like there are several reviews open for the tn40 driver but it isn't in FreeBSD yet and hence not in pfSense either. You might be able to make that work but you'd need to compile and install it yourself.
I would just get an X520-DA2 or one of the OEM equivalents:
