I have been running a Dual Stack home network for seven years and implemented a pfSense CE firewall last year which I upgraded to pfSense+ recently. When I did have issues upgrading from CE 2.5.X to 2.6.0 and from 2.6.0 to 22.01 but based on advice in the forum I have found it is a repeatable problem. If I want to check the status of Updates or obtain a list of Packages, I must have System / Advanced / Networking Prefer to use IPv4 even if IPv6 is available - enabled. If I disable Prefer IPv4 then it is not possible to get System / Update / Update Settings to work it fails.

Checking my internal DNS server it appears while most requests can be completed over IPv4 and IPv6, some requests only resolve to IPv4 addresses as no IPv6 address is available. Not sure if this just a DNS issue with missing AAAA records.

Performed a new test with Prefer IPv4 disabled and enabled and captured DNS queries
