    Hello!

Could you please give me an advice which Netgate appliance I should use for following project:

    A hotel with about 180 guests / Guest WiFi / seperate guest-wifi-VLAN
    Office with 3 Staff PCs / seperate office-VLAN /
The hotel has a total internet provider connection of 800Mbit/s up/down

What appliance could you recommend me

    1. with IDS/IPS for the Staff-VLAN ONLY
    2. with IDS/IPS for the Guest-VLAN and Staff VLAN
    3. without IDS/IPS

Would be great if you could give some advice please...

    Thank you very much!

With IPS the 6100 would be a good fit.

Without IPS the 4100 would do that.

Hi, I have much the same question.
          3 discreet LAN's
Lan1. 72 Holiday rental Apartment Resort, each with own WIFI router, 2-3 bedrooms, smart TV in most, Netflix etc. At present only 54 apartments connected, other may or may follow at some point. Bandwidth QoS on each router, 25-40Mbps. 4 x Comms rooms, with fibre to Centre Comms room, then 1GB fibre (RJ45) National Broadband Network
LAN2. Office, 2 computers, separate LAN
          LAN3. PABX
I was hoping to use the 4100 but will listen to advise. I need 6 ports including WAN RJ45
Also, a 4100 Netgate video states a RACK Mount option.
I am currently running PFSENSE on a small 3rd party appliance as the firewall, but I would prefer a Netgate appliance.

          Thanks

          Russ

I would definitely use the 6100 there. You might well end up with packages or traffic shaping on the firewall and the additional CPU cores will probably be required.
