Connection Dropped After Gateway Down
-
Hello Guys,
I'm facing a problem on pfsense 2.5.2 when I have one of my 3 internet links down... All Connections that are running on other links are being dropped. I have Gateway Monitoring-> State Killing on Gateway Failure enabled. I asked here and people told me that this feature will only clear states of the link that becomes down don't affecting other links connection.
This feature when any gateway becomes down kill all states table ? Is there any log that I can check why connection of the other links was dropped ?
Thanks !

@st6 First order, please upgrade to the latest pfSense version. So, are you saying you have 3 WAN ports and when 1 WAN port is down, all other WAN ports go down? If that's the case, which shouldn't happen as earlier told.

@st6 Do all three gateways have unique Monitor IPs?
Logs are under Status/System Logs.

@nollipfsense Thank you ! Other gateways don't become down however all connections using the others gateway are dropped. But these gateways still online.

@steveits Yes each one has its own monitor IP. Others gateways didn't become offline however their connection are dropped. I'm not sure if this happens because of any other reload that happened because one gateway gets down.

@st6 You might look at this as your failover is not working:

That's not true. It will kill states on all gateways when any gateway goes down. It's not enabled by default because it's very disruptive but can be helpful in some situations.
When that feature was added it was not possible to kill states by gateway so it was all or nothing.Steve
