migration from vm to 6100max

Hi,
any special things i need to be aware of when migrating a conf from an esxi to a netgate 6100max ?
i've glanced at it & made a mental note to add <enableserial> (or it might be <serialenable>)
is it a good idea to request a firmware image in advance ?

It's always a good idea to have a recovery image available. Much easier to get it now when you're not racing against the clock to get back up.
The serial console is force enabled on the 6100 so you don't actually need to add that, though ir doesn't hurt to do so.
The NICs will be different so when you import the config you will need to reassign the interfaces.
If you have a complex setup with subinterfaces (VLANs, PPP, QinQ etc) it can be easier to modify the config before importing it. We can do that for you if you open a ticket:

yeah i was planning to find and replace the vmx1,2,3 to the corresponding ix / igc interfaces.
i think i've been around these parts of the intarwebs long enough to be able to manage that much =)when i find the time - i'll register the device & get the recovery image before dumping a corrupt config in there ;)
