      Hi,

      since the ZFS Layout changed in 2.6 I would like to redeploy instead of just upgrading. What is the preferred method for a redeploy in a HA environment with two dedicated physical servers, meaning should I redeploy the primary first or the secondary?

      Thank you

        Always do the secondary node first, then fail over to it and test it out. If it works OK, then do the primary node.

        It's probably safer to upgrade to 2.6 first and test it out and then if it's OK, redeploy it. That way you are not potentially chasing issues from two sources at once.

        It's your call on that, though.

          @jimp
          OK, redeploy secondary, switch primary to maintenance. Redeploy primary. When I upload the primary's config it will reboot. After that I guess it will automatically try to get primary (CARP Master) since it does no longer know it should be in maintenance mode, right?
          Or should I backup config while primary is in maintenance mode so that it will stay in maintenance after redeploy?

            The maintenance mode switch is in the config and persists across reboots.
