not sure if this is hardware or software (drivers) issue

I currently have the following ( which works)

      dell OptiPlex 380
1000Base nic integrated on motherboard - wan
      100Base 3com pci nic - lan
      running pfsense 2.6.0

      i tried replacing the 3com with a d-link pci dge 530t and also tried a insignia USB 3.0 10/100/1000 ( 2.0 backward compatible )

I could ping to google.com from the firewall server
i could ping to my IP from the firewall server
but i could not get to the internet from my system.
i have a mysql db ( on the same lan as my system) that I could get to if i used the mysql workbench but not from program that I wrote to access it.
tried changing the assignment ( swapped the wan to lan and lan to wan did not help)

i put back the 3com card and everything works again but at 100 MBs

is there something I'm missing to get a second 1000 MBs nic to work?

      TIA Tim.

@tross9 Are you re-assigning your LAN to the new port or creating a new "LAN" with another subnet?

When you plug into the new interface do the lights turn on correctly showing the correct speed?

Did you try setting the speed? Leave it at auto if you have.

          @chpalmer
          thanks for the reply.
I've removed the old card and re-assigned the new card to my LAN. (to prevent confusion I only keep two cards in the server wan and lan)
there is only one light on the 530t and none on the insignia USB.

Not sure if setting the speed is the problem, even if it was running at 10 MBs, I should be able to connect to the internet from my PC , but the only machine that seem to be able to connect to the internet with two 1000base NICs installed, is the firewall server.
Also i do not see where I can change the speed. nothing on the console menu, or on the dashboard ( using a web browser to connect to the firewall ip address)

i've even ran an update from the menu after installing the card.
is there something that need to be run from the Pfsense dashboard when adding a new Card , something like disabling PfBlockerNG and then enable it.

is there a speedtest for the NICs , something that will show the speed the card is running at?
