2 PFSense clusters with CARP on each of them on the same switch
-
we have 2 different networks and on each network we have a PFSense. ..
Recently we configured CARP on each, but what happened is, when we run both PFSense with CARP one of them starts to drop off ...
When we searched up, found that because of the multicast ... we can't find the multicast address either in the PFSense or on the Switch (AVAYA) -
@haidymikhail If you can plug a patch cable between the two on the sync interface and bypass the switch, that works too.
In System/High Availability Sync there is a setting:
pfsync Synchronize Peer IP
Setting this option will force pfsync to synchronize its state table to this IP address. The default is directed multicast. -
@steveits each 2 pfsense are connected with a patch cable and we configured the setting in pfsync Peer IP ... but still the issue occurred
