      I recently bought this New Genuine HP Intel Pro 10/1000 PCXE-01 SFF NIC Network 728562-001 697356-001

      To add to my pfsense box however it’s not detecting it.

      Not sure where to look to see if it’s supported.

        Check the output of pciconf -lv at the command line. The device should at least show there if it's in any way compatible.

            I can only find 2 references and those are the ones that do work. This is a SUPERMICRO X9DRD-LF-TW008. It does have one pcie slot and you have to use a pcie riser as this a 1u server. I have previously tried without the riser in the server and got the same result on the gui. I will try again without the riser and use the command.

            I will also try in a windows machine to see if it recognizes it.

              Mmm, I agree it doesn't appear there. Even if it's an unsupported device it should appear as something in that list. The fact it doesn't indicates a low level incompatibility or a hardware problem.

                Wanted to update this post. it was the card.
                I had a sas LSI pcie card handy stuck in there and did the pciconf -lv and it found it. As a last ditch effort got windows on this machine and even windows could not see it.
                All these test were done with the riser installed so my stuff was working.
