      Morning,

I'm have trouble via ISP, modem status keeps randomly changing from Good, Poor, Moderate and N/A. It is windy today, and there maybe other factors and I didn't call them yet to find out the problem,

but my question is, can I download the latest version and install via USB, and will it allow me to upgrade without whipping my settings and package installations?

Secondly, since I bought this from the Store year(s) back to I have to contact TAC? My subscription is not active or

Which download, I'm assuming according the Docs, I suppose to down an Netgate ADI image, but there is a USB Memstick Installer.

      Which one?

        @nasheayahu

ADI (Arm) images has to be requested via Netgate support.

          allow me to upgrade

I have never upgraded from local media - this is normally used for a clean install.

You can always restore your stuff after a clean install. Restore is pretty painless. And can even be part of the install process.

But what could pfsense be doing that would change your isp modems status - that seems more like your isp devices connection to your isp sort of diagnostic.

If your having problems with your isp connection, prob not a good time to do a upgrade or even clean install of new version of pfsense. Since now you have introduced a new variable - is it your isp having issues still, or something wrong with pfsense, etc. When having problems it is always best remove variables or minimize any sort of changes, etc.

Correct, there is no update from USB available for pfSense.

ADI (Arm) images has to be requested via Netgate support.

FYI- ADI is not the same as ARM. ADI was a specific set of amd64 hardware that had special console requirements. The ARM images are completely different.

@nasheayahu It's not really designed to upgrade pfSense via USB. You can kind of do it though, for instance, to convert to ZFS.

This process allows pulling the config file during installation:
                  https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/backup/restore-during-install.html#recover-config-xml-from-existing-installation

I would definitely make sure you have your own backup though. Always a good idea.

Since you have a 2100 you want the Plus software so you can open a free ticket. CE is the free, AMD64 software.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
